  Brand Identity

Designing a brand's identity, or at minimum a logo, is easy – they're everywhere. But creating a strong logo and subsequent brand identity system takes careful, often tedious, examination of the client's business and communication goals. A brand identity that sets it apart in a meaningful way is one of a company's greatest assets.

Sisters Building Sisters
Sisters Building Sisters & True Girlfriends is a national, non-traditional ministry founded by Minister LaTonia Harrell to come together on one accord to uplift, encourage, educate and motivate women.

JD Humphreys / Art Director
Science experiments, making stuff with wood scraps, flannel and plaid shirts pretty much defined my childhood and my visual identity. Being an 80s kid, I decorated my Trapper Keepers throughout school with early sketches of my logo. 20 years later, I was still doodling until I finally discovered a unique monogram – a 'J' and 'D' that formed an 'H.' The logo set the foundation for the identity – slightly vintage, colorful and geometric.

The Williamsburg Winery
The Williamsburg Winery is located just outside the historic area in Williamsburg, Virginia. While the Winery itself isn't historic, the land it is on (Wessex Hundred) has a very rich history. While the original logo didn't change much, the opportunity revise the typography to more 18th century likeness and to add the "At Wessex Hundred" line created an interesting conversation starter and more integrity to the Winery's products.

Triangle Corporate Battle of the Bands
A limited budget prompted the need for in-house illustration for nearly all campaign materials – including the brand identity. Logos were hand-drawn and enhanced with Illustrator. See the entire campaign.

Peace One Day – Shed Blood For Peace
Peace One Day (September 21) is a day of global cease-fire. We were tasked to give people, specifically college students, a way to participate that would have a direct impact on global conflict. Our communications had to be provocative, incite anger and motivate action. Red is not only the color of blood but of anger – the catalyst to get college students to donate blood (Shed Blood For Peace). See the entire campaign.
